John D. Moore Jr.; Banker, Commercial Real Estate Broker

John D. Moore Jr., 56, a banker and commercial real estate broker who helped found Cushman Realty. Moore, of Pasadena, was most recently affiliated with Travers Realty Corp. in Los Angeles. He began his career in the international division of First National City Bank in Bahia, Brazil, and in 1972 opened Citibank’s Los Angeles office. He later was a vice president of Crocker Bank. In 1978, he switched to real estate and Cushman, becoming the firm’s senior vice president and chief financial officer. He later was the principal of John Moore & Associates. He served as board chairman of the Hathaway Home for Children, a board member of the Executive Council of Foreign Diplomats and a founding member of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Men’s & Women’s Professional Group. Moore, a Yale graduate who served in the Navy, was an avid amateur squash and tennis player. On July 7 in Newport, R.I., of a heart attack while playing tennis.
