ANAHEIM : Summer Park Shows Are ‘Just for Kids’

International folk songs, circus acts, storytelling and a magic show are among the performances ahead in the “Just for Kids” summer series on Friday evenings in the Pearson Park Amphitheatre.

Designed for elementary school children and their families, the annual series is presented by the Anaheim Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department.

Performance dates and artists are:

* July 21: The Master Chorale’s Music for Kids quartet will perform Disney songs and international folk melodies.

* July 28: Make-a-Circus will present a hands-on circus experience for children.

* Aug. 4: Recording artist Jim Rule will perform audience-participation songs.

* Aug. 11: Storyteller David Novak will tell humorous tales.

* Aug. 18: Magical Moonshine Theatre will use large puppets and masks to relate animal folk tales from the Southwest.

* Aug. 25: Comic magicians will perform “Magic Under the Stars.”

All performances begin at 7:30 p.m. except Make-a-Circus on July 28, which will start at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets for the “Just for Kids” series are $1 for children age 12 and younger and for seniors. Admission is $2 for the general public. The box office opens an hour before show time. Information: (714) 254-5274.
