Nation IN BRIEF : OKLAHOMA : Training Bomb Hits Early; 1 Killed, 8 Hurt
A bomb on an Air Force plane dropped early during a training exercise at a Ft. Sill range and landed near two Humvees, killing one person and injuring eight others. The bomb, which weighed about 500 pounds, was dropped from an OA-10 fighter plane used daily for training, said a spokeswoman for Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, La. The plane, which was carrying only one person, was assigned to the 917th Wing Air Force Reserve at Barksdale. None of the eight injuries was serious. The explosion killed Capt. Christopher Williams, 29, of Houston.
