Consumer Portfolio Services Inc.: The Irvine company, which purchases, sells and services loans originated by automobile dealers, reported net earnings of $2.3 million, or 35 cents a share, for the first quarter ended June 30, up 77% from $1.3 million, or 24 cents a share, for the first quarter of the preceding fiscal year. Revenue rose 95% to $8.4 million from $4.3 million.
