Valleywide : Center Processing Citizenship Requests
San Fernando Valley residents seeking American citizenship can now complete their applications and interviews in North Hollywood rather than trekking down to the Immigration and Naturalization Service office in Los Angeles.
The East Valley Multipurpose Senior Center has been processing citizenship applications for the past four weeks.
Once at least 100 applicants are located, the center will host INS officials who can conduct the entire interview process at the North Hollywood facility.
“It has been going so great, except no one knows we’re here,” said Geneva Hyatt, a spokeswoman for the center.
“This is the way of the future, these outreach centers. We don’t just do their applications and say goodby. We’ll be there if people have any questions.”
The East Valley Multipurpose Senior Center is at 5000 Colfax Ave., North Hollywood.
