Chrysler Boosts Minivan Production: The 1996 models are arriving in showrooms beginning this week amid high expectations, following some costly delays. The vehicles’ importance to Chrysler Corp. was emphasized last week when Chief Financial Officer Gary Valade said reduced minivan production in the second quarter removed about $500 million in revenue from the balance sheets of third-largest U.S. auto maker. Minivans represent 25% of Chrysler’s sales volume. One company official called the product “our crown jewel.”
