Share

A man suspected of robbing three banks in Ventura County and one in Santa Barbara apparently struck again in Simi Valley Tuesday afternoon, the FBI reported.

A man walked into the Bank of America at 1307 Los Angeles Ave. and gave a teller a note, asking for all of her money. He did not display a weapon, agents said.

The teller gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash. He then fled through a parking lot, and a search of the area turned up no suspects or suspicious vehicles.

Agents described the man as a white male in his late 20s or 30s, about six feet tall and weighing more than 200 pounds.

FBI Special Agent Larry Dick said he believes the same man is responsible for recent robberies at the Bank of America on Victoria Avenue in Ventura, California Federal Bank in Camarillo, Bank of America on Main Street in Ventura and another bank in Santa Barbara. In the robberies in Camarillo and Santa Barbara, the man used a taxi to travel to and from the heists, authorities said. Officials are not sure whether he used a taxi Tuesday.

FBI officials said Tuesday’s robbery is the second in Simi Valley this year and the 16th in Ventura County.
