Man Arrested in 3-Time Theft of Same Store
Police have arrested a Los Angeles man suspected of robbing the same Radio Shack store three times since April, authorities said Tuesday.
Mario Robert Estrada, 38, was arrested Monday night at his apartment on suspicion of committing the three thefts at the electronics store at 2412 W. Victory Blvd., Burbank Police Lt. Larry Dow said.
Estrada is believed to have robbed the Radio Shack twice in April with an accomplice, then once last Thursday, Dow said. After the third robbery, where Estrada allegedly acted alone, he led police on a high-speed chase that ended when his Datsun 280-ZX spun out of control at the York Avenue exit of the Glendale Freeway, Dow said.
Investigators tracked Estrada to his apartment after he eluded them by fleeing on foot and got a warrant for his arrest Monday, Dow said. He was being held at the Burbank Jail in lieu of $855,000 bail.
