FILLMORE : Driver Killed in Crash Is Identified
The man killed in a traffic accident on California 23 was identified Wednesday as 42-year-old Salvador Rocha of Fillmore.
Ventura County coroner’s officials said Rocha died of head injuries when the car he was driving veered off a northbound lane into a concrete culvert and crashed into a 4 1/2-foot-high bridge that sheered off the car’s top.
Rocha’s passenger, Dolores Lomele, 26, of Fillmore sustained moderate injuries, officials said. She was in good condition at Simi Valley Hospital late Wednesday.
The cause of the accident, which occurred at 4:16 p.m. Tuesday, is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
