SIMI VALLEY : Youngsters Offered Free Vaccinations

Share

Simi Valley children age 2 months to 18 years who have not been properly immunized can receive free vaccinations at the fifth annual Kids Care Fair on Sept. 10.

The fair, which also offers health evaluations, helps low-income families gain access to preventive medicine, said Barbara Reynolds, site coordinator for the fair.

“Many families cannot afford to take their children to the doctor,” she said. “Prevention of disease is so important to the health of our children.”

In addition to the immunizations, children can receive free health screenings, which include evaluation of growth, blood pressure, vision, dental health, speech and lung function.

The fair is sponsored jointly by the American Red Cross, KABC-TV in Los Angeles and FHP Health Care, with Simi Valley Hospital acting as the coordinator.

Vaccines will be donated by the Ventura County Public Health Department.

The fair is scheduled for noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 10 at Mountain Gate Plaza, 1271 E. Los Angeles Ave., Simi Valley.
