SPECIAL TO THE TIMES

Jason Secor of Ventura earned a victory in the 20-lap Street Stock feature after a 12th lap incident in which four-time defending track champion Paul Moore of Oak View sent points leader Greg Voigt of Goleta into a spinout Friday night at Ventura Speedway.

Moore was sent to the back of the pack for rough driving, an action that drew boos from the crowd, and Voigt was sent to the back for causing a caution flag by spinning out.

“I run her a little hard and got into him, which was my mistake,” Moore said.

Voigt, who was trying for a fifth consecutive victory, said: “I don’t know if it was intentional or not, but at least we both got put back.”

Voigt worked his way back to finish fourth, behind Secor, Joel Remmenga of Camarillo and William Hagel of Santa Barbara.

Sophie Adams of Ventura avoided crashes on the last two laps to win the 15-lap Pony Stock main.

Mini Stock points leader Ernie Malone of Casitas Springs won his third 15-lap feature race and defending national champion Scott Pounds of Bakersfield took the 20-lap Modified main event.
