Brookside Farm

When my then-boyfriend and I moved to Los Angeles 3 1/2 years ago, we needed a getaway weekend that was within a three-hour drive and reasonably priced. Thinking that the town Dulzura sounded rather exotic, we headed down to Brookside Farm (“Green Acres,” Weekend Escape, June 4). Our stay was so wonderful that we decided to get married there in 1993. Sally and Ed Guishard arranged a buffet dinner the night before the wedding, a post-wedding brunch, music, wedding cake and flowers. It was all very “add water and stir,” which I adored. We have promised ourselves that we will return each anniversary.
