LOS ANGELES COUNTY : Bid for Samuel Goldwyn Near?

It appears that Ted Turner has the inside track to acquire the financially ailing Samuel Goldwyn Co. movie studio, according to sources close to the companies. Turner reportedly paid a personal visit to Goldwyn’s West Los Angeles headquarters in the last several weeks. Sources say there have been extensive meetings and intense due diligence going on between the two companies. If a deal is made, Turner would have three movie companies under his banner, which also includes New Line Cinema and Castle Rock Entertainment.
