The Chicago White Sox put right-handed starter Jason Bere on the 15-day disabled list Sunday, retroactive to Saturday, because of tendinitis in his right biceps. To replace Bere, the White Sox recalled left-hander Mike Bertotti from triple-A Nashville.

The Milwaukee Brewers signed relief pitcher Rob Dibble and added him to their 25-man roster. Dibble, 31, was signed by the Brewers to a minor league contract on July 29. He appeared in four games with triple-A New Orleans, going 0-1 without yielding an earned run.

To make room for Dibble, the Brewers optioned pitcher Ron Rightnowar to New Orleans.
