Taitron Doubles Its 2nd-Quarter Earnings

Taitron Components Inc., a Santa Clarita distributor of semiconductor products, said its earnings more than doubled in the second quarter to $1.04 million from $458,000 in the same quarter last year. Revenue for the quarter, which ended June 30, was up 64% to $9.2 million from $5.6 million last year.

For the six months, the company’s earnings were $1.8 million, up from $623,000 a year earlier. Revenues were $17.5 million, up 62% from $10.8 million in the first two quarters of last year.

The company, which completed its first public offering of stock in April, said the quarterly results reflected continued strong demand for semiconductor products.
