Company Town : Westinghouse Names Team to Head Its Merger With CBS

Westinghouse Electric Corp. said Thursday that its chairman and chief executive, Michael H. Jordan, will head the transition team in its proposed $5.4-billion merger with CBS Inc.

The team also includes Bill Korn, Westinghouse Broadcasting Co. chairman and CEO; Peter Lund, president of the CBS Broadcast Group, and Leslie Moonves, president of CBS Entertainment.

Charles Goldwater was named president and chief executive of Cinamerica Theatres, effective Sept. 1. Cinamerica, a limited partnership owned jointly by Paramount Pictures Corp. and Warner Bros., operates 349 screens in 65 locations under the trade names of Mann Theatres and Festival Cinemas.

John C. Severino will leave as president and chief executive of Central European Media Enterprises Ltd. and continue with the company as a consultant and program supplier. He will be replaced by Leonard M. Fertig, now its chief financial officer.

Ken Solomon, currently executive vice president of network distribution for Fox Broadcasting, will join DreamWorks SKG in a role that will encompass television production and distribution.

Nanscy Neiman, former publisher of Warner Books, has joined Mandalay Entertainment as executive vice president, to lead the company into publishing.
