RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA : Water District Race Entry Deadline Today
Residents who want to run for positions on the Santa Margarita Water District board must file candidate statements by 5 p.m. today.
As of Thursday, no one had filed to run against the five incumbents, said Rosalyn Lever, a spokesperson for the Registrar of Voters. Four of the five current trustees--Sean Barrett, Jim Holmes, Bob Lay and Betty H. Olson--have filed their candidate statements, Lever said, and incumbent James E. Mizell is expected to do so today.
The water district, the largest in South County, serves 60,000 residents in Mission Viejo, Coto de Caza, Rancho Mission Viejo and Rancho Santa Margarita. Information: (714) 567-7600.
