The newly sworn-in 1995-96 Ventura County grand jury is making itself available to civic groups, schools and anyone else interested in how the panel works.
Brochures and speakers will be provided to anyone who requests information about the panel. For information, call 654-2873.
The Superior Court appoints a grand jury each year to hand down indictments and to review county programs. The 19-member panel meets throughout the year, preparing a watchdog report on county government in June. Last year’s grand jury blasted the county for its handling of trash disposal and schools for juvenile offenders.
