Youth Held in Slaying of Parents, Brother, 5

McCLEARY, Wash. — Sixteen-year-old Brian Bassett and a 17-year-old friend have been charged with three counts of first-degree murder after Bassett’s parents were shot to death and his 5-year-old brother was drowned in a bathtub.
Prosecutors say Bassett had been kicked out of the house by his parents because of his increasingly violent behavior.
