VENTURA : Juvenile Hall Guard Denies Assault Charge

A Juvenile Hall guard has pleaded not guilty to a charge that she beat a 16-year-old inmate two months ago.
A preliminary hearing was set for Sept. 12 for Patricia Sharpe of Oxnard at her arraignment in Ventura.
Sharpe is accused of punching the inmate, identified only as “Rena L.,” in the nose. The girl did not require hospitalization.
Sharpe is a four-year employee of the Corrections Services Agency. She faces a maximum of three years in prison if convicted of the felony assault charge.
