More Turner Footwork: Turner Broadcasting Systems Inc. is expected to make a bid for Santa Monica-based Samuel Goldwyn Co. sometime this week. The Turner board is meeting today to discuss an offer in the neighborhood of $100 million for the financially strapped independent film and television production entity, which has about $60 million in debt. Also on the agenda of the Atlanta cable company: buying King World Productions Inc., the syndicator of “Jeopardy!” and “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” in a stock swap valued at about $1.7 billion. Ted Turner is after the $500 million in cash on King World’s books to enable him to make a competing bid for CBS Inc. But judging from the $11 billion Westinghouse Electric Co. has raised from banks to finance its $5.4 billion CBS bid, the industrial company could be preparing for a fight--and taking its offer to $6 billion.
