SANTA ANA — A 19-year-old man was shot to death early Sunday in the partially open garage of his home, police said.
David Reynoso, who was shot in the chest, was pronounced dead in the garage of his duplex in the 450 block of West 3rd Street following the 2 a.m. shooting.
The incident was reported initially as a possible robbery, said Santa Ana Police Sgt. Dick Faust, but police have not determined a motive in the shooting, or if robbery was involved.
Investigators believe the gunman fired from a black Mustang, which was last seen speeding away on Newhope Street, Faust said. The Police Department’s gang unit is investigating the death, although officers don’t yet know if the shooting was gang-related.
