Roger Bryan Fraser, a longtime Ventura County resident and manager of the Ventura Pier Bait and Tackle Shop, died Saturday after a long illness. He was 45.
Known as “Beaver” to his family and friends, Fraser was an avid bingo player and fisherman. He was born Aug. 25, 1949, in Santa Barbara but lived most of his life in Ventura County. He managed the Ventura Pier Bait and Tackle Shop from 1969 to 1992.
He is survived by his wife, Jamie Fraser of Ventura; his parents, George Fraser of Los Osos and Marie Preston of Ventura; and his brothers, Douglas A. Fraser of Eastland, Tex., and Russell M. Fraser of Redondo Beach.
The family is requesting that no flowers be sent.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home in Ventura.
