On Sept. 19, Huntington Beach Art Center will begin a monthly Portfolio Review program in which artists may have their work assessed by center staff and other arts professionals. Center curator Marilu Knode and Irvine Fine Art Center curator Dorrit Rawlins preside over the first session. The program, beginning at 6:30 p.m., will involve career and education guidance and discussion of the contemporary art market. Artists may bring up to 20 easily transportable works or 20 slides for presentation. Reservations are required. Admission: $3, general; $2, students. (714) 374-1650.
