COMING FULL CIRCLE

Give yourself a big hug when you sit in the soft circle of the Mia armchair.

Designed by Franco Marabelli for B&B; Italia, the chair envelops you with bright color and soft fabrics ($1,147 to $1,864, depending on fabric). It has a sculpted, futuristic look, yet Marabelli says he drew inspiration from works of the ‘50s.

The frame is a glossy chromed metal, and all the covers are removable for easy cleaning.

Gothic Style

Traditional stylings and contemporary forms come together in the sophisticated SoBe collection by Edward David Nieto.

Nieto’s crescent table (about $6,900) of high-density wood with a high gloss or dull black finish is accented with gold leaf in the tray and on the feet for a medieval feel.

Nieto, based in Miami, travels throughout Europe and the Middle East to “interpret the diverse shapes and motifs” of the world into a design, he says, “creating furniture and accessories in traditional or contemporary forms.”
