COMPANY TOWN : Ex-Chief of Toys R Us International to Head Six Flags

Six Flags Theme Parks named former Toys R Us executive Larry Bouts its chairman and chief executive, replacing the recently departed Robert W. Pittman.

Bouts most recently was president of Toys R Us Inc.’s international business. As head of Six Flags, he will oversee the company’s 11 regional theme parks, including Six Flags Magic Mountain and the new Hurricane Harbor.

Earlier this year, Time Warner sold a 51% stake in the company to Boston Ventures Management Inc., an investment group. Pittman, who left in the wake of the Boston Ventures deal, was named recently as chief executive of the Century 21 real estate firm.

* Glenn J. Gumpel, who for seven years has been executive director of the Directors Guild of America, will leave that post on Oct. 1 to become an executive vice president at MCA Recreation Services.

Gumpel will handle legal and business affairs for the division, which includes the company’s theme park operations in California and Florida. He reports to Ron Bension, chief executive of the group. MCA is 80% owned by Seagram Co.

As executive director of the directors guild, Gumpel was actively involved in a number of guild and industry issues, including talks on the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade.

* Joel Denton was named senior vice president and managing director of international sales for Hallmark Entertainment.

* Raymond Landes was named vice president of corporate accounting for New Line Cinema.

* Jacqueline Comeau has been promoted to vice president and eastern regional manager for MGM Domestic Television Distribution.

* Rick Unger has been named president of New World Entertainment’s first-run and animated programming.
