Irvine’s United Leisure Posts 2nd-Quarter Loss

United Leisure Corp. of Irvine reported a second-quarter loss of $539,000, or 44 cents a share, compared with a profit of $151,500, or 43 cents a share, in the same period a year ago. The company attributed the loss to costs of opening its children’s camps and learning centers. Revenue rose 16.6% to $637,000 from $546,000.

For the six months ended June 30, United Leisure said it lost $532,000, or 43 cents per share, compared to a loss of $105,000, or 3 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue totaled $1.1 million, up 43.7% from $770,600.
