YUBA CITY--The humble dried plum is honored at the California Prune Festival, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Sept. 9-10. Prune ice cream and prune chili are among the prune offerings. SAN RAFAEL--A bounty of fresh food and culinary activities awaits at the 12th annual Marin County Harvest Faire, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Marin Civic Center Lagoon and Fairgrounds. Highlights include gardening, health, art and cooking demonstrations; more than 225 growers, artists and others; wine tasting; country brunch; live music; children’s activities; tomato tasting; and pepper roasting and tasting.
