MOORPARK : Festivities Planned for Labor Day Picnic

A chorus, magician, karate exhibition and country-Western band are just some of the entertainment acts lined up for Moorpark’s Labor Day family picnic set for today.

The Moorpark High School chorus will kick off the “Labor of Love” picnic with a performance at Arroyo Vista Recreation Center at 11 a.m. Other activities, including face painting, a coloring contest, carnival games and a petting zoo, will run until 3 p.m.

The picnic will also feature booths serving food, such as barbecued meats, shaved ice and frozen yogurt.

Admission and parking are free, though some carnival games and other attractions will range in price from 25 cents to $1. Magician Jeff Peterson takes the stage at 11:30 a.m. and the Cactus County Country and Western Band performs at 1:30 p.m.
