THOUSAND OAKS : Information Sought on Car Burglaries

Police want to speak to anyone who may have seen a burglar who broke into two cars in Thousand Oaks and made off with a watch, a cellular phone and other goods on the night of Aug. 17.

Two vehicles in the Westlake area of Thousand Oaks were burglarized between the late hours of Aug. 17 and early Aug. 18. Police said the burglar entered a car on Hazelcrest Circle and another on Cedar Point Place using a crowbar.

Authorities said they will award $1,000 to the person whose information leads to an arrest of the burglar or burglars.

An AT&T; cellular phone, a silver briefcase, a Tag Heuer stopwatch and a four-ounce bottle of Aspen cologne were stolen in the break-ins.

Burglars have stolen from other vehicles in the same general area during the last two weeks, according to police.

Authorities have asked anyone with information on the burglaries to call Ventura County Crime Stoppers Inc. at (805) 494-TALK. Callers may remain anonymous, police said.
