A 26-year-old woman was in critical condition Wednesday after a motorist drifted into the bike lane on Newland Street and struck her during her morning jog.
Julie Textor was jogging north on Newland between Garfield and Yorktown avenues at 7:50 a.m. when Pam Dimistos, 36, of Costa Mesa hit her, Huntington Beach Lt. Jim Cutshaw said. Textor suffered a skull fracture when she was hit by the car’s right front area and windshield. She was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where she was in “very critical” condition with massive injuries late Wednesday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Dimistos was not cited, Cutshaw said. The investigation is continuing.
