Stolen Explosives Recovered
SANTA CLARITA —
Just under 500 pounds of explosives stolen from a rock quarry in Canyon Country on Labor Day were recovered Thursday night in the Santa Clarita Valley.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Mark Bailey said a sheriff’s bomb squad had unearthed the explosives and were quarantining an undisclosed area in the Santa Clarita Valley.
An undetermined number of suspects were arrested, he said.
He would not reveal where or how the explosives had been found, saying some suspects were still being sought.
