Powell’s Wife Says He’d Be in Danger If He Ran for President

NEW YORK —
Colin Powell’s wife says it would be dangerous for the retired general to run for President because a black candidate would probably become a target for “crazy people.”
Does she want him to run? No.
“He would probably be at much more risk than any other candidate because of being a black man in this society. A lot of crazy people out there,” Alma Powell said in an appearance with her husband on the ABC News program “20/20,” which aired Friday.
But if Powell decides to go for it, “I will adjust,” Alma Powell said.
