NHL EXHIBITION ROUNDUP : Red Wings Win Obstruction Battle

Steve Yzerman had two goals and two assists to lead the Detroit Red Wings to a 5-3 exhibition victory over the Boston Bruins on Sunday night.
Detroit took advantage of the NHL’s new obstruction rules to go ahead, 2-0, in the first period.
At 16:07, with Brent Hughes in the box for the obstruction interference, Yzerman scored on a wrist shot. He got his second with 0.4 seconds left in the period, also on the power play.
Vancouver 3, San Jose 1--Cliff Ronning set up all three Canuck goals, two of which were scored by Roman Oksiuta, to beat the Sharks in Spokane, Wash.
Hartford 4, Calgary 3--Jeff Reese made 18 saves in 40 minutes of action as the Whalers won in Saint John, Canada.
Philadelphia 4, Washington 3-- John LeClair’s second power-play goal, at 4:24 of overtime, lifted the Flyers in Hershey, Pa.
Buffalo 5, St. Louis 4--Donald Audette scored an overtime goal to win it in Buffalo, N.Y. Jeff Norton, who led the Blues with one goal and two assists, sent the game into overtime with a goal at 17:18 of the third period.
Montreal 6, Colorado 3--The Canadiens scored three goals in a 2:38 span late in the second period to win in Cornwall, Canada.
Edmonton 3, Chicago 2--Miroslav Satan scored twice as the Oilers won in Chicago, where the Blackhawks’ Bob Probert was ejected midway through his first game in 17 months. He was penalized for high-sticking.
Florida 6, N.Y. Islanders 5--Dave Nemirovsky scored 54 seconds into overtime off an assist from Johan Garpenlov to lift the Panthers to a victory in Kitchener, Canada.
