Woodland Hills : Compost Workshop Scheduled at Pierce

The city of Los Angeles will sponsor a composting workshop Saturday at Pierce College.

Composting bins will be available for $20.

Harmonious Technologies, an Ojai-based distributor of composting products, is co-sponsoring the workshop.

About 1,500 bins will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Limit is one per household.

The workshops will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the school, at 6201 Winnetka Ave.

Bin owners will be taught how to use leaves, grass and food scraps to create rich fertilizers for their gardens and divert waste from landfills.
