Studio City : Firefighters Free Deer Trapped in Fence

Share

Los Angeles firefighters cut free a deer that was trapped in a fence on Mulholland Drive for nearly two hours Tuesday.

About 10:45 a.m. the deer got trapped in the wrought-iron fencing around a home in the 12900 block of Mulholland Drive, said Fire Department spokesman James Wells. As residents, and later firefighters, tried to free it, the spooked animal began kicking and twisting wildly.

Firefighters put a gunnysack over the deer’s head to calm it down, then cut through the bars about 12:30 p.m., Wells said. Animal Control officers inspected the deer and pronounced it fit to go free in the wild, so it loped off.
