COMPANY TOWN : KABC Chief Moving to East Coast

Alan Nesbitt will leave his post as president and general manager of KABC-TV Channel 7, effective Nov. 1, to relocate to the East Coast. Nesbitt took the job at Channel 7 in November, 1993. He said his decision to leave Channel 7 was based “on personal and family considerations.” He is expected to assume new duties on the east coast in the Capital Cities/ABC Inc. group. A search for a new KABC general manager will begin immediately.

* Don Harris will join DreamWorks Distribution, where he will assist in setting up a distribution program for DreamWorks SKG.

* Film producer Fred Schneier was named chairman of the American Film Marketing Assn., succeeding Spelling Films executive Pamela Pickering.

* TriStar Television is restructuring its prime-time series development division. Russ Krasnoff was named senior vice president of series development. Kimberly Haswell was hired as vice president of series development, with Jocelyn Freid named director of series development. Kim Rozenfeld was named director of series development.

* Dawn Rivera-Ernster has been named creative director of Saban Children’s Entertainment Group.

* HBO Pictures has announced that senior vice president Richard Waltzer will oversee the company’s day-to-day operations and management. Marci Miller, formerly director of marketing planning, has been promoted to vice president of strategic and marketing planning for HBO Pictures and HBO Showcase.

* Robert Brada has been named senior vice president and deputy general counsel for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc.

* Frank J. Intiso, formerly executive vice president and chief operating officer, has been appointed president and chief executive of Falcon Holding Group, a Los Angeles-based cable television company.

* Motion Picture Corporation of America said Jeff Ivers has joined its ranks as a partner and executive vice president.

* The directors of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting have elected Ritajean H. Butterworth chairman of their board.

* Patrick de Bokay has joined Turner Pictures Worldwide Distribution as vice president for international marketing.
