Nathan Tufts Jr.; B of A Ad Manager
Nathan Albert Tufts Jr., 83, renowned amateur golfer and former advertising manager for Bank of America. A native of Waltham, Mass., who was educated at Colgate University, Tufts worked for many years with the J. Walter Thompson advertising agency in New York City. He was also with Ruthrauff & Ryan, W. Earl Bothwell Co., Batten Barton Durstine & Osborne, Johnson & Lewis and the Grey Agency, all in the Los Angeles area. Tufts joined Bank of America in 1969 and served as its advertising manager for Southern California until he retired in 1976. One of three honorary life members of Lakeside Golf Club in Toluca Lake, Tufts served as secretary of the club’s board of directors, as editor of its newsletter and, for 28 years, as the club’s handicap chairman. He was active in the Southern California Golf Assn. and served as president of the Advertising Golf Assn. of Southern California. On Tuesday in Medford, Ore.
