Splash Beat Mexico City in Shootout
If the playoffs had begun on Friday, the Splash would have been playing at Mexico City against the Toros in the first of a three-game series in the Continental Indoor Soccer League playoffs.
Instead, the Splash scored a 6-5 shootout victory over Mexico to pull within a half-game of the Toros for second place in the Southern Division. The victory also pulled the Splash to one game of first-place San Diego with three games remaining on the schedule--including a game at San Diego (15-10) on Thursday. Mexico (15-11) was tied with San Diego for first place.
The Splash (14-11) play fourth-place Arizona (11-14) tonight in Phoenix. The Splash won for the fourth time in five games as Sean Bower scored the deciding shootout goal.
