Splash Gets Wild-Card Spot With Victory Over Arizona
With its victory Saturday over Arizona, the Splash clinched at least a wild-card berth in the Continental Indoor Soccer League playoffs, which begin Oct. 6.
The Splash’s 10-5 victory improved its record to 15-11 with two games to play. It is tied with Mexico for second place in the Southern Division and trails San Diego (17-10), which beat Arizona Sunday night, by one game. The Splash plays in San Diego on Thursday.
The first and second-place team in each division, and teams with the two best third-place records qualify for the playoffs. There is one berth left, for either Las Vegas, San Jose or Washington.
The Splash has won five of its last six games after posting victories on consecutive nights against Mexico and Arizona.
