THE O.J. SIMPSON MURDER TRIAL : Juror Questionnaire

Share

Following is the text of the questionnaire given to jurors Wednesday by Superior Court Judge Lance A. Ito:

I. Extension of hours during juror deliberations

The court would like your thoughts with respect to extending the court hours each day during juror deliberations and with respect to deliberating on Saturdays. Please note that deliberations may only take place when all 12 jurors are together and reassembled in the jury room at the courthouse.

1. Would you like to extend the court hours each day during deliberations by adding a session after dinner from 6-8 p.m.?

2. Would you like to deliberate on Saturdays?

3. If you would like to deliberate on Saturdays, would you like to deliberate for a half day or a full day?

II. Family visitation, conjugal visits and telephone contact during juror deliberations

During deliberations, the normal procedure with respect to a sequestered jury is for family visitation, conjugal visits and telephone contact to be terminated.

As an alternative, however, the court is contemplating permitting telephone conversations and family visits on the condition that they are fully monitored. Conjugal visits will not be permitted during jury deliberations.

The court would like to know your thoughts with respect to this matter. Please feel free to provide any comments you may have below.
