THOUSAND OAKS : 3 Men Sought in Robbery at Bank
Three armed men stormed a Thousand Oaks bank, tied up three tellers and fled with an undisclosed amount of money Thursday morning, according to the FBI.
The men--all described as about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, 165 pounds and in their mid- to late 20s--fled the Bank of America branch on West Hillcrest Drive in a maroon Honda sedan with tinted windows, said Gary Auer, FBI agent-in-charge.
The robbery began as bank employees arrived, and a man hiding in the bushes jumped an employee as she opened a door, Auer said.
Carrying a handgun, the same robber forced his way into the bank and then used a walkie-talkie to call in an accomplice, Auer said. Two bandits grabbed money from several areas and tied up three employees with duct tape before fleeing in a car driven by the third bandit, Auer said.
There were no customers in the bank and no one was injured, although one teller was slapped in the face, Auer said.
Authorities were unable to locate the men, who were last seen wearing dark, baggy clothing.
