ANAHEIM : New Terminal to Serve Sightseeing Buses

A vacant automotive dealership will be redeveloped into a terminal for sightseeing buses in a move seen by city officials as a boost for Anaheim’s tourism industry and help for the downtown area.
At a public hearing this week, the City Council cleared the way for Pacific Coast Sightseeing Tours to build a bus terminal and a storage and maintenance facility at the northeast corner of Anaheim Boulevard and Ball Road. The 3.8-acre site was previously occupied by Anaheim Dodge.
“It’s an important redevelopment of a major property,” said Mayor Tom Daly, who added that the project will result in a “much more attractive intersection.”
Plans call for the tour bus company to construct a 17,143-square-foot office and maintenance building, and a 4,400-square-foot customer embarkation area.
As many as 66 buses will be stored at the site, which will be landscaped.
