Obituaries : * Patricia Jean Nelson Herro; Oxnard Resident
Patricia Jean Nelson Herro, a 16-year resident of Ventura County, died Wednesday at her Oxnard home. She was 64.
Though born in Canton, Ohio, she was raised in Racine, Wis. She received a nursing degree at St. Mary’s Hospital in Milwaukee. Her family said that Herro was drawn to Ventura County because of the beautiful weather and her love for the Pacific Ocean.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda England, Nancy Stancer and Mary Jo Levick; stepdaughters, Diane Halverson and Karen Herro; stepson, David Herro, and brother, John Hurt.
Herro was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles James Nelson and Bert Herro.
Visitation is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sunday at the Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home, Ventura. A vigil service follows an hour later; Father Joseph Pina of the San Buenaventura Mission will officiate. The burial will be private.
