DANA POINT — Sheriff’s deputies discovered the body of a woman at a residence here Sunday after receiving information from another woman whom the officers were summoned to assist near Dana Point Harbor, authorities said.
The name of the dead woman was not immediately available and details were sketchy.
Sheriff’s Lt. Jay Mendez said officials discovered the body about 4:20 p.m. after responding to a call for medical aid near the harbor.
On arriving there, deputies assisted a woman who had received injuries to her chest, Mendez said. The deputies rushed her to a nearby hospital.
Based on information from the woman, the deputies decided to visit a residence in the 32000 block of Danapoplar Street, where they found the body of a second woman.
Deputies were scrambling Sunday night to secure a warrant to search the premises, Mendez said.
