Cal State Northridge OKs Gay, Lesbian Studies Institute
Cal State Northridge approved the creation of an institute on gay, lesbian, bisexual and trans-gender studies, it was announced Monday.
The institute will sponsor lectures and round-table discussions on campus, starting Oct. 18.
The Institute for Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay and Transgender Studies will serve as a resource for faculty members who would like to incorporate gay studies into their classes, said Donald Hall, an associate professor of English.
Hall said Cal State Northridge has a large gay and lesbian student population, to which the institute will cater.
