A repentant Charles Haley made amends Monday. The Dallas defensive end apologized to his coaches for his outburst about not starting on Sunday and backtracked on his vow that this would be his last season with the Cowboys.

“I overreacted to the situation,” he said. “I was frustrated. On reflection, I just wish I had a cold Coke and got out of there [Texas Stadium]. We can’t have a house divided and I won’t let it happen.”

Haley, who missed practice last week because of a sore back, signed a five-year, $15-million contract in July.
