The Marine Corps’ Camp Pendleton was the first U.S. home for many Vietnamese immigrants.
In the mid-1970s, Camp Pendleton was designated an official relocation center for Vietnamese who eventually settled in Westminster, Garden Grove and Huntington Beach. Orange County now has the largest Indochinese community in the United States.
