MCA Signs Female Rap Group to Long-Term Contract: MCA Music Entertainment has signed superstar rap duo Salt N’ Pepa to a long-term multimillion-dollar recording pact with MCA Records. Under the arrangement, MCA will finance a joint venture record label named Jireh Record with the rappers, whose names are Cheryl James and Sandra Denton. Salt N’ Pepa had previously been signed to PolyGram-distributed Next Plateau Records and have sold more than 10 million albums worldwide.
