OFFICER SENTENCED: A former Beverly Hills police officer was sentenced to five years of probation Tuesday after his no-contest plea last month to one count of oral copulation with a minor.
David R. Beckstrom, who resigned from the Beverly Hills Police Department after his arrest in August, received a two-year prison term that will be suspended as long as he complies with the terms of his five-year probation, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Lauren Weis.
His sentence includes registering as a sex offender, 500 hours of community service, counseling and therapy and $10,100 in fines and restitution, she said.
Beckstrom, a Sunland resident, initially faced three counts of sexually molesting two teen-age boys, but two charges later were dropped.
On Sept. 14, Beckstrom entered the no-contest plea to the felony charge of oral copulation.
The victims, 15 and 16 years old, allegedly were male prostitutes. . . .
